Cristal has been a part of the British Swim School team for 2 ½ years, and her favorite part about being an instructor is being interactive and playful with children, while teaching safe water skills at the same time! Cristal’s favorite classes to teach are the Stroke Development levels such as Turtle 1, Turtle 2, and Shark 1. But, enjoys the rest of the levels almost as much as the higher skilled ones. She enjoys teaching children new skills, especially when they are able to meet their goals with her help. Cristal’s favorite part about working with British Swim School are the children and new people she gets to meet.
When Cristal is not teaching, she is attending community college to earn her Associate’s Degree in early childhood education. Her favorite school subject happens to be her early childhood education classes, and she is working on achieving her dream job: teaching new things to children in classrooms. So, she’s a natural teacher at heart! In her freetime, Cristal enjoys reading books and taking care of puppies. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, and is currently learning American Sign Language.
Cristal started learning how to swim when she was 5 years old, when her mother took her to swimming lessons. She started working for British Swim School while she was a junior in High School, after taking a child care program and earning the opportunity to work with children. After working with us, she realized she found something that made her extremely happy, teaching! Since then, she has made it her passion to keep teaching children.
